Plano Independent School District

Plano ISD | TEA accountability ratings The Plano Independent School District currently operates three pre-schools, forty-one elementary schools, thirteen middle schools, five high schools, three senior high schools, and six special programs centers. These seventy-one schools are attended by approximately 55,000 students who live in Plano, Allen, Dallas, Murphy, Parker, and Richardson.

For the 2010-2011 school year, Plano ISD was rated recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Twenty-five of its campuses received exemplary ratings, twenty-two received recognized ratings, eighteen received academically acceptable ratings and six were not rated. The percentage of Plano ISD students passing the 2010-2011 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was somewhat higher than for all Texas schools.

Ten Plano ISD schools are attended by students living either in the northwest Dallas suburbs or the far north Dallas area profiled on this website. As shown below, three of these campuses were rated exemplary by the TEA based on their 2010-2011 school year performances, two were rated recognized, and five were rated academically acceptable.

TAKS scores and other performance information for the 2010-2011 school year for each campus are available by clicking on the campus name. A description of how the TEA to determines annual accountability ratings is available by clicking on this TEA accountability rating guidelines link.
