Celina public schools rank twenty-sixth among 2018 Dallas suburbs with best public schools and one of its two principal high schools, Prosper High School, ranks eighteenth among the 2018 top 25 open enrollment high schools in the DFW metroplex. Celina also has experienced the eighteenth fastest population growth rate in the Dallas Fort Worth area over the past three years suburbs. Celina is located in northwest Collin County, approximately 42 miles north of downtown Dallas and 61 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth.
