Grapevine's public schools rank eleventh among 2018 Dallas suburbs with best public schools and its principal high schools, Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School, rank fourteenth and twenty-third among the 2018 best open enrollment high schools in the DFW metroplex. Its prevailing tax rate is in the bottom quartile of property tax rates in the Dallas area. Grapevine is located in northeast Tarrant County, approximately 23 miles northwest of downtown Dallas and 23 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth. As the DFW metroplex continues to grow and becomes more densely populated, Grapevine's proximity to DFW International Airport, the Los Colinas business center, and both downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth is likely to make Grapevine residential real estate even more desirable than it is now for people who need to commute frequently to and from these areas.
