Student achievement index is defined by the TEA as the percentage of total student assessments for all subjects tested that meet or exceed the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) achievement standards. The college readiness index is derived from my analysis of student participation in and successful completion of high school Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses and performance on SAT and ACT college admission tests as described in detail on this Texas high schools rankings page.
